I have to say I share your sentiments, I would rather go for the real thing. The hunk of silicon or whatever the heck they are made of doesn't really do it for me.
Note: It probably doesn't help that at first glance the pictures in the OP appear to look like they came from a dogs behind. Not all that attractive of a device really.
