I don't like excessive use of alcohol or any use of drugs. So I'm a stick in the mud. Personal experience, having a partner passed out from drugs and/or alcohol is not an appealing sight, or smell. I would probably scout the house for alcohol and drugs, then dispose of them all. A frank chat would follow after he woke up. With bright lights. Before the hangover wore off.
