And I can come up with many examples of underexperienced people who were hired into a job and failed miserably, dragging themselves and the staff, group, division, company down the toilet. I've seen it too many times.
If you were the right hire, then you were the right hire - but I doubt many 25 year olds would succeed at running a multibillion company. A few, sure, particularly if they started the company, but highly doubtful if they came into an established corporation that was trying to be successful for the long term and not just a company that was looking to get bought.
But that is not the point, because anyone can come up with an example of how to refute a general trend or truism.
I've been down these paths before, so let's agree to disagree and move on.
