Indiana Jones is a Saturday night serial which happens to be on the big screen. It's about adventure, mystery, and magic. It's middle name is "suspension of disbelief". I can't understand holding it to some measurement of reality. It's like saying Star Wars (A New Hope) was bullshit because you can't go faster than the speed of light.

I have no problems with aliens, and I'm well aware that it's a common theme with Spielburg. However, I do have a problem with the fact it didn't fit in with the series at all. It was awkward, cheesy, hokey, whatever you want to call it. Just didn't work. I expected some egyption sun god shit, or maybe some tribal stuff, but the alien crap didn't work. It seemed fake, just as fake as the crystal skull which the actors held as if it were 2 lbs of plastic (in which it was).
