Indiana Jones is a Saturday night serial which happens to be on the big screen. It's about adventure, mystery, and magic. It's middle name is "suspension of disbelief". I can't understand holding it to some measurement of reality. It's like saying Star Wars (A New Hope) was bullshit because you can't go faster than the speed of light.

Spoiler: Unarguably, this God character has been around scaring people a lot longer than ET, at least when one looks at the main stream media. Let's not go all historic and say, "This tribe worshiped these Sky Gods, this," and "The Egyptians made perfect star charts, that." That way, people are more accepting of the Ark melting people like candles.
