It sounds like the bouncer chair fits in between the door frame on a spring bar. If this is the case, see if you can retro fit it to be hung from a hook screwed or hammered into a joist. This will provide more support and save the strain on the door frame.

I get the impression the OP still lives at home, so this one would be a little tough to explain. It's a good idea though, just not seeing it as a workable option here.
