Had a Nissan Maxima.....great car. Decided to get a Nissan Pathfinder. That thing was such a piece of $hit that I'll never go back to Nissan, although I'm seriously tempted to try a 350Z.
There's a big difference between the people that buy new European cars and those that buy them used. The new car owners don't know a damn thing about what's under the hood and are generally the type that want to race on the highways....true morons. The crowd that I'm familiar with (i.e., the "used" car crowd) do their own mechanic work and can appreciate a well-cared for car, domestic, Euro or Japanese.
If a car has been on the road for 10 or more years, and still runs well and is rust-free, I'd say it's a good car no matter where it came from.
