Wow, what a gorgeous airplane. I'm glad people care and are interested enough to restore such beautiful old things.
Felts Field and that plane and terrain reminds me of a flight I took out of a PACNW airport a few years ago. It was out of Bellingham, WA. My flight from Chicago was heavily delayed due to serious snow storm, but eventually we landed in Seattle; then they told us all outgoing flights are on hold until the next day; I needed to get to central British Columbia asap so I asked around, somebody drove me thru the storm to Bellingham Airport where some cowboy guy in a two seater plane said "hell yeah, let's go"; the only room for me was sitting next to him up front; so we took off couldn't even see the prop, fly a couple hours in pea soup thick cloud cover; suddenly he says "we're here" and immediately drops out of the sky, under the clouds and there we were, directly above Prince George, BC.
