2. It's a huge relief to spend this V-Day in Iceland, where globalization has not yet overwhelmed the shops with tons of cheap red/pink shit made in China. There's also a noticeable lack of a greeting card industry here... surprised Hallmark hasn't made it here yet.
That said, I still have a little soft spot for my American holidays (very little, but I can't ignore it), so I still like to do something just a bit special on those days.
So we decided to make some "molten lava cakes" from scratch, to make together at home after a dinner/movie (the latter is not that rare for us, since ktspktsp gets free movie passes through work). You know, the kind of little chocolate cakes that have almost liquid chocolate spilling out from the inside, when you take 'em out of the oven? Mmm, sooooo good... and eaten with strawberries and pears, it should put us over the top for a very comfy, cozy evening.
And that's enough for me!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Feb 14th is also the anniversary date (since 3 years ago) when ktspktsp's country started going to shit again, thanks to Hariri being blown up. So that's another motivation for us to keep it relatively subdued, at least until things start to get back to normal in Lebanon...
