Normal people provide evidence to the police and get the guy convicted. Wife beaters aren't popular in prison.

You must be a man i take it... LOL
I can tell you from experiance that being beat for years can make you a nut, drive you to do things you normally wouldn't do. Peggy went to the cops many times. Had many restraining orders on him and they put him in jail many times (Hense they have records) and he kept coming back for more. He had a control issue and he HAD to be able to control Peggy. Lots of things are not right sweetie but it doesn't stop people from doing them. I'm sure your not perfect so why act like it. I never said Peggy was sane I said she is a nut case but she is so because of many things. One because of being beat for 27 years and 2 because of her drug use which i really think is what kept her there. He kept her so drugged up most of the time so he could abuse her and rape her. I remeber going over one night to see how she was doing and she was in a pool of blood under her bottom. I called 911 and when they came I heard one of the cops (Mr. Williams) say oh not again. Hmm I thought damn how often do they come out here? I only knew Peggy for about 4 years before this happened. I seen it coming and so did every one else. If you back a dog in a corner so many times, it's only a short time before he bites.
