well ipconfig/release; renew wont work. it says its disabled. or something like that.
i am going thru a dsl modem.
well this is my sisters computer so they wouldnt have a DHCP server. nor do i have one. but i have dabbled in it a little.
i did get that it was a "fake" ip address because i saw no dns servers. usually they list to when i put in :ipconfig/all
so what are my options?
setting it manually? well since its plugged directly into the modem, what scheme of ip address/dns/gateway do i use? subnet mask??
do you think that now that i have the drivers for my NIC installed, i could call thier INTERNET TECH SUPPORT and maybe i am doing something wrong?
