It's a neat idea, but it sounds over-produced. The best work in this style is IMO done by Imogene Heap. Check out the tune "Hide and Seek"--the electronic aspects are foregrounded rather than being poorly hidden, the composition and arrangement are more interesting, and the lyrics are brilliant.
