How hubby gave me my ring (you can borrow/modify/ignore):
He came over to my house after working swing shift. He asked if I had any carrots, as he was in desperate need of some. I understand when you need an orange when your blood sugar takes a dive, but carrots? He explained it's about "beta carotene, sunshine, and being in love." I told him I thought he was nuts, but there were carrots in the fridge. He came back from the kitchen with a plate full of carrots, and offered me one numerous times. I finally conceded just so he'd stop. He handed me a carrot, and when I took a bite, I noticed that it was wearing my ring.
