Sonic, and Snake from Metal Gear Solid are in Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Need I say more?? It's SSB!! With online play!
Also, Super Mario Galaxy is coming out this month, and looks like it'll be the best platform game in years, IMO.
Get the Wii, for now there is Zelda, Metroid, Super Paper Mario, Sports (duh). Those games will keep you busy, they're really fun.
And soon SSBB and SM Galaxy.
