That's about what I managed when I started. Apparently it's easier for those of us who come to it as actual guitarists, but don't expect playing this thing to be like playing a real guitar. In a lot of cases, the GH versions of songs on expert are harder to play than the song on an actual guitar.
Just picked up GHIII for myself today on PS2. I didn't bother with the controller since I already have my GHII controller and I don't really see the point of the wireless. The cord on my wired controller is plenty long enough for me to sit on the couch and play and I don't have a burning desire to rock out from the kitchen.
I've been playing on hard and have yet to fail anything other than the boss battles. Morello took me two tries to get past, Slash took three. It seems like the difficulty level on this game has been ramped down quite dramatically over the first two, which I find a bit disappointing. Still, the songs are really cool; it seems like there's a big emphasis on classic rock this time around, which I love because that's the stuff I grew up listening to (Sunshine of Your Love? Paint It Black? I'm there!)
Welp, two levels left. Back to it.
