The Rogue Nation of Gekstudia is a very large, socially progressive nation, notable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 86 million are either ruled by a small, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.
The large government is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Education and Social Welfare are secondary priorities. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 17%. A robust private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing industry, followed by Retail and Basket Weaving.
Military spending is on the increase, it is illegal to make racist remarks in public, the police force is on a recruitment drive, and the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller. Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gekstudia's national animal is the black tiger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the gekst.
