Yes, I can honestly say I have NEVER asked a guy to trim for me.
I've never asked any of my partners to change themself in that fashion - as for vaginal appearance - judging someone on that is like a girl taking a guy into the bedroom and saying
"Sorry you're not long / thick enough for this ride. Thanks though"
Vaginal appearance can in some aspects be dictated by genetics, same as penis length / girth.
