Some people like symmetry across the bridge of the nose. Some people like asymmetry. Some people like Nordic eyes / cheekbones. Some don't. Some like pronounced chins, some don't. Some like wide-eyed faces with eyes spread far from each other. Some people like eyes very close together.
There's no universal "fact" about how you appear to others, or how attractive you'll be. I think I'm a goofy motherfucker, but my girlfriend seems to like it.
You're better off trying to find groups of people more likely to be interested in your face/body/personality type then changing your face/body/personality type to aim at a different group.
This is an obvious case for changing the audience, not the actor,

In the back of my mind I knew that I would end of having to not worry about it and just live life... I just wasn't sure.
Your post is true although I think there are people out there who are pretty much universally attractive
I wonder if those people know they're attractive by looking at themselves or just assume from all the positive feedback they get..
So... change the audience? But how do you know what audience to change it to?
