Firing anything indoors without hearing protection is a painful experience. I've done it, have you? I think its wise that everyone do that
once just so you know what to expect.
If your worried about the shotgun being too cumbersome for indoor use, you could always go for a folding stock.
But personally, I would not. I think they're uncomfy.
