Wikipedia edits are immediate and I'm not sure why "wiki needs to change that fast." It's always been the case that edits are immediate and I don't see that changing anytime soon. The IP of the source of edits is logged (in the occasional instance that information is needed) and changes can just as easily be reverted. If a page gets too many edits in a short period of time, going back and forth between information, etc, then editing it may be limited to only registered users of wikipedia, or even locked to remove the ability to edit the page entirely.
