I've gone shooting before with a friend's gun collection. I would have enjoyed it more if A) I was better at it and B) the guy at the end wasn't shooting something so unbelieveably loud that even through my ear plugs it sounded like someone hitting a metal dumpster with an aluminum baseball bat.
I need to think about what I need/want to do for self-defense now that I'll not have built-in defenses...I still think that the statisics of people being attacked by their own guns is a highly compelling reason to not keep one in the house, but I'm not completely convinced not to have one at all.
And self defense would be the only reason I'd have a gun. I'm not "into" them, otherwise.
