Yes, Stalker may run on your older slower computer but not at full tilt. And with this set up, since like you said the games aren't keeping up with hardware, I won't have to upgrade in a long time.
And at $1400 for a full upgrade to really close to top of the line for processor, motherboard, ram, case and power supply , now seems to be the time to buy.
