- Eat more whole grains (eat real oatmeal, not Count Chocula; eat 12-grain bread, not Wonder Bread)
- Eat fresh fruits and vegetables (it's incredible how many people don't eat enough despite the incredible cleansing benefits)
- Eat more legumes (complex carbohydrates, high in fibre, and adequate protein, esp. when eaten with grains)
- Cut out the sugar (calories without nutrients, and they are easily converted to fat)
- Cut out the refined foods (most food that comes in a package with a list of ingredients are lacking in nutrients)
- Drink lots of water (a prime tool for cleansing)
- Eat nuts and seeds (they contain fibre and good fats)
- Reduce your meat intake (meat takes a lot of energy and time to digest, which is why you should avoid heavier things such as beef and pork altogether)
Other tips: - Do yoga asanas (one purpose of asanas is "elimination," which refers to the removal of waste from your intestines; other benefits include toxin removal)
- Get enough sleep (you body doesn't maintain itself properly unless it gets adequate rest and deep-sleep cycles)
- Breathe deeply (not enough oxygen in your system hinders the movement of nutrients and the removal of toxins)
Something to think about : - Don't go looking for a magic pill. The true way to health and balance is through a broad, holistic approach. You are always better off getting the real thing over something reduced into a pill format. The "health and fitness" industry is good at making things seem better than they really are.
