Make sure you're dancing to something that already makes you want to take off your clothes!
Plan out your music. Be aware of exactly how long it is (The music!! lol), and pace yourself accordingly. Newbies tend to get nervous and yank everything off right away and then you still have 3:39 minutes to fill, LOL.
Try to match your dance to the music. Listen for creshendos (sp?) and lulls, crashes and bridges, and disrobe accordingly.
Don't be afraid to tease!! Covering something and "refusing" to show for a bit is a lot sexier than whipping it out and hammering a nail into a 2x4 with it (so to speak).
Practice with your "costume". It's amazing how difficult it can become to remove articles of clothing under pressure. Be smooth, not nervously fumbling for the zipper or buttons.
Have extra stuff in your costume to play with, like a hat. You don't have to just take it off and toss it, but play with it a bit.
Decide in advance what your limits are. Don't decide on an alcohol-fueled whim right then and there.
Don't get drunk before hand.
Practice. Practice. PRACTICE.
Practice while smiling!
Have fun. Watching someone else have fun is the best EVER. The ladies won't remember your choppy moves, your wacky costume, your less-than stellar physique (if that's the case) if you look like you're having the time of your life, smiling, laughing, etc.
So please, now that I've given you all these great tips...tell us how it goes, OK? I'm serious.
Good luck!
