On Saturday I went to the theater and saw, "The lives of others." (Original Title: Die Leben der Anderen) The movie is in German, with English Subtitles.
This movie, set in East Germany in the mid 1980's, follows a writer and playwright as he comes under suspicion from the STASI (East German secret police). And portrays how two people who never meet (the writer and the STASI officer watching him), irreversibly impact the life of the other person and changing the course of both their lives.
And extremely interesting take on life in the Former German Democratic Republic. 4.5/5
