Lucky you I bought all 7 issues of that POS miniseries.
Anyway as far as Cap goes Joe Quesada (Marvel's Editor in Chief) has said the following in a CNN article.
Quote:
Still, one has to wonder: Is Captain America really dead? Comic book characters have routinely died, only to be resurrected when necessary to storylines.
Joe Quesada agrees -- but said times are different now.
"There was period in comics where characters would just die and then be resurrected. And the death had very little meaning and the resurrection had very little meaning," he said. "All I ask of my writers is if you're going to kill a character off, please let that death have some meaning in the overall scope of things."

This is however the guy who okayed the resurrection of Captain Mar-vell recently pretty much ruining one of the best (and longest lasting) deaths in comic books totally contridicting his above statement.
My guess is that this is just as bad as the "death" of Superman a few years back and was only done to try and grab some mainstream press which has done. Give it a few months and Captain America will be back in the land of the living.
This crap is one of the reasons I've pretty much cut out all Marvel titles from my monthly purchases.
