i saw pedro almodovar's volver last saturday. if you like almadovar's films, you will like volver. he's kind of got a lock in quirky spanish films with lots of big themes.
i also saw letters from iwo jima early last week. solid film. very sad. but i didn't think it was great. interestingly my japanese assistant told me she cried through the whole film. it was just too much for her.
