If you want to sell a car for parts and actually make money on it you have to sell the parts individually, and that means finding a place to store a car in pieces, and it also means disassembling the car and then having the shell hauled off (if you can't sell it). If you sell a car AS a parts car, you won't get very much for it at all. Unless it was a hard to find car I would certainly not pay $500 for a non-runner.
