Identity comes from our individual packaging, not where we were born.
Does anybody disagree that each of us would be very much the same person under wildly different circumstances, or feel that we might be much different?
IMO It's probable that we can only be who we are.
If I hadn't been born in "America", I'm sure I'd want to come here, too...
