Actually, I've found that this kind of situation is very workable. It has its advantages and its own kind of "loose-leaf" intimacy will enter into it. A camaraderie of sorts that's, not better, just different from that of a more serious relationship. This is the way it has worked for me anyway.
And congratulations...sounds nice.
