Little Miss Sunshine...
Well it was my turn to see this little flick that seems to be picking up a lot of attention and even Oscar buzz lately... and I gotta say, I think there's a lot of smoke here, but not much fire. I thought this film was good, not great. Collette's the star of the show and the little girl is a close second. Kinnear and Carell were good characters, but not far enough removed from what I would consider their comfort zone, even though Carell had the biggest stretch of a character to play. The writing in the film was good, the direction was a little choppy at times. Overall, this was a road trip movie that didn't do enough in my opinion to make it stand out as any different from other road trip movies... it couldn't do it on the strength of the script or characters alone.
