This is Coeur d'Alene you're talking about. They're well-known for their classic car show every June.
But I did find this website for you to poke around on:
http://www.coeurdalene.org/ so you can see what's going on while you're there.
And Spokane is about half an hour from Coeur d'Alene. They have a really nice mall there where everything is connected via skybridge so you never have to step outside, and it was just remodeled a few years ago. Usually I go to Spokane in the summer, though, so most of my recommendations of what to see or do are kind of useless.
