Of course this applies to the track, not the street where you shouldn't be driving fast anyway. I find, and of course many others do too, that if I'm more tightly held in place in my seat and not sliding around as I'm pulling 3.5g turns

I feel more comfortable driving faster and it actually improves lap times and my ability to do other things required while driving fast ....e.g. change the volume of my CD player, insert a new DVD movie, touch up my make-up, talk on cell phone, etc.
But since the car I drive at such track events is not really a fully prepped race car and I still mostly use it on the street, I didn't want to install roll bars/cages and multi-point belt systems. But I found that this accessory really helps the factory belts do a better job, I love this gadget:
