A friend of ours introduced us to her music when "You Were Here" came out, and we were hooked immediatly. All of her albums are solid, with each and every track being highly listenable. I like her smokey voice and while I usually don't pay much attention to lyrics, her's tell some wonderful stories. I'd say my favourite song is Lodestar, which is unabashadly romantic, yet firmly grounded. I like that duality, which runs through a lot of her work.
I've seen her once in concert, at the Danforth Music Hall, which was amazing. She had a cellist in her backup band, who's sound blended perfectly with her voice. It was one of the best concerts I've been to.
Aww shucks. Listen to me gush.
