I have several pairs of shoes, Patent for my tux, Formal for my Suit, walking for work, and then two pairs of everyday shoes. I have found that the more expensive leather shoes are worth the extra $ in terms of their looks and longevity, however the cheepest shoes I have ever worn are New Balance (I have a 4E width foot, kinda hard to find anything but NB or custom fancy shoes that will fit my feet). I currently wear Dunham (NB's high end brand) shoes because they look and feel just like some of those italian brand's basic shoes (no super flashy models) but cost a hell of a lot less.
