As an aside (sorry to the OP for the threadjack), The "western" world (comprised of North America, Western and Central Europe) has
roughly two million AIDS and HIV cases. With the population in the US being nearly
300 million, assuming 100% of those cases were in the US, that's 0.67%. Since it's unlikely that 100% of those cases are in the US, you can assume less than 0.5%. There are many, MANY things that will kill you that you have a much greater chance of having happen to you. Yes, being careful is important, but so is keeping a firm grasp on reality. In fact, that CIA World Book link estimates 0.6% which is still fairly low, and also extends primarily to certain subsections of society (no, I don't mean homosexuals...)
