Steve Yzerman announced his retirement from the NHL today - sad news to me, but everyone has to hang it up sometime. And sad for hockey to say goodbye to one of the classiest players out there. So, in appreciation of Stevie I thought I'd open a thread to say goodbye to him and perhaps for everyone to throw in a favorite Yzerman moment or story.
My favorites: seeing him hoist the Cup for the first time and actually getting to see him play live. The first time I saw him play in person he scored 2 goals and had an assist. Great for me, since he's been my favorite player for as long as I can remember. So, who else is going to miss him?
