I've missed periods twice in my life--once I missed 2 months when my family moved to a new state and once I missed a month when starting college. Both were incredibly stressful times. Stress wreaks havoc with your body.
Nutritional deficiencies can also cause you to skip periods, as does being too thin, as can endocrine disorders. I would definitely be talking to your OB/GYN if you're still missing them after things in life have calmed down for you.
