so my parents took him to the vet, and just called. it turns out that he didnt have a stroke at all, but instead a SEVERE ear infection which brought upon vertigo. it does make sense though. he's got the side to side movement of one of his eyes, and absolutely no balance.
i'm somewhat happier, and hope that this clears up sooner rather than later. i was told that it might take a long time or not at all considering his age (15). the crazy thing is that was completely fine at around noon when i came home to visit my parents. then, about 3 hours later, after a trip to Costco, we came home to find him the way he is. that's why we figured he had had a stroke or a seizure of some sort.

Wow, that's wild! A friend of mine had taken her cat in to be put down, was having terrible urinary tract problems. While the cat was *on the table*, my friend and her hubby were crying and the vet was one last time explaining things, and prodded on the cat's tummy, when the blockage came out! A kidney stone from hell, apparently.
The problem has not reoccurred, and the cat is still running amok today.
Talk about an emotional rollercoaster.
