A soft whisper I've heard before,from across the room
Seeing you in this dull light is like a day in June
You sing a song of innocence, from forth the mouths of babes,
The tales you tell me as you smile, leaves me feeling jades
I'm happy as a summers lamb, before I'm led to slaughter
The real music is flowing from, all the childrens laughter
We dance about as they cut in, and steal the suns sweet shine
the silver linings tatter torn, the dress you wore was fine
A shout comes forth, we turn our heads, we quickly look away,
In time we hope that it will pass, we hold our heads and pray
A light comes on, as we close, our squinting burning eyes,
The absence of a pulse is right, as darkened winter skies
The wheels still turn although the hill, has led us to this crest,
The road has widened as we seek, to finish one more test
I take your heart and hold it to, the bright light that I see,
I aim to finish what I start, whatever it may be
I look into your eyes and see, a portal to your soul,
the long and winding road my friend, still wants you to be whole
