I had no desire to drink until I was legal. Then, between the ages of 22-24, I drank to get drunk and even to the point of blackout. This happened until I had one traumatic and regrettable experience while drinking.
Since then, I have only really drank around safe people, enough to get tipsy occasionally, but nothing more. As a result I have developed an appreciation for finer alcohol and the sheer taste of it. This includes red wines, Belgian beers, sake, margaritas, and other things that go well with food.
