Two things for your pistol:
Buy some Wilson Combat mags, sometimes just switching mags up makes the difference and as far as I know wilsons are top of the line.
You may need to tune your extractor. The problem you describe (A failure to return to battery) sounds (partly) like a common extractor problem.
