I didn't move this to paranoia right away, because I think there might be something to discuss here.
Specifically around the subject of external influences on those in power.
I recognize this is a topic that could easily drift into the mud or paranoia, hence my warning at the top.
I will keep it here for now but please, as I said before, keep it civil and try not drift.
