4 times a year television stations like my own spend a month coming up with idiotic "must see" stories to try and get as many viewers as possible to watch them while the Nielsen company measures their ratings. You've all seen 'em. Stupid crap like "It's big! It's hot! It's yellow, and if you got near it, it could kill you! The sun, at 10" or "A deadly new threat to your children, find out how to keep your child from choking on scrambled eggs, at 6"
But this is the first sweeps month I've ever seen where magazines got into the act:
