Not a lot of people seem to remember this ...
In the very first scene of the game we see a girl (Aerius) looking at some glowing vision. When the vision fades she stares out into darkness looking surprised and saddened ... then she walks off as the camera pulls back to reveal the city. Then come the credits as the train pulls in and the story begins.
Then in the very last scene before the credits (lasts about 2-3 seconds) they replay the scene of Aerius looking at the glowing vision. This time you realize that the glowing tendrils in the vision are the events of the world at the end of the story ...
At that point we realize she knew everything that was going to happen ... and she had carried that secret with her throughout the entire story. It's safe to say she knew she would fall in love and that she would die ...Now we know why she was saddened by her vision - but it also makes us appreciate her resolve even more.
very poingant.
