BUT when it comes down to it - I've been on the otherside of the world... in the middle of a database meltdown and a client on a deadline... and i got an engineer out of bed at like 3am... and he spent the next hour or so getting the problem resolved witih me... no complaints... no whining about it... I've had the other engineers stay til quite late in the morning- getting ready for an important demo... the mentality with them - whatever it takes to get the job done...

this is the human aspect to which I was referring, you are human and understand what it takes to get it done and realize that your boss is a human with a condition and not some robot that doesnt fit a "part"

I completely agree with you. Crying to avoid doing something you don't want to is the same as throwing a temper tantrum, kicking and yelling on the floor because you got overtime..
Btw, there was one job I was working telephone tech support, and while telling someone how to reformat their system I was trying to knock down a pewter wizard with a nerf ball from 20 feet away ( before having my pewter knight knocked out by the same type of nerf ball. )
