hate cable select... I always take the time to set the jumpers to master and slave because I know somewhere down the line...my decision to set it to cable select is going to bite me in the ass.
If the drives work fine independently and on seperate cables, then it's either the jumper settings or maybe an issue with the cable connecting the two itself.
