Memories inside me,
of a sweeter day
when love was inside me,
where it chose to play
Will love be elusive,
will it run and hide,
will it choose another heart,
to flourish and reside
Scratching at the surface,
of a crystal ball
cloudy as it seems to be,
the season has it's fall
Many moons ago I asked,
the meaning to be free
the answer I was given,
it's who you choose to be
I chase the summer sun again,
I relish in the garden,
if I use it not it feels,
that it seems to harden
Will love someday be mine I ask,
will scars let light shine through?
will love live in my heart again,
after I've known you?
I fell upon a prickly thorn,
it pierced throughout my chest
The love lies bleeding in my hand,
I hope it's not it's last
I walk a softer slower pace,
I'm guarded once again
Although I see ahead of me,
that this is not the end

And as she plays,
her sweet song of laughter
floats through the air
and warms my heart
