I would be very frustrated to learn that people at a protest were not there to protest. We're not out there protesting for fun. We're there to promote social change. The fact that the police want to infultrate such legal protests is not surprising, but quite disturbing.
I often take advantage of the legal right to organize by protesting. I do not want that legal function to be disrupted by those who are not there to help, espically if those who are disrupting are doing so purpousfully. I'd like very much for that officer to be charged for disturbing the peace, and a formal apology to all who were injured. I'd also like a promise that they will stop. I doubt the homeless people in NY are going to be responsible for the next 9/11.
