Both me and my brother have had ganglions - and two friends.

He (brother) had his injected and sucked out. It later came back... then went away. Mine simply went away over time. I guess it took a year. I had 3mths of avoiding use and perhaps 3mths of gradually building up weights again while avoiding certain angles.

Of course. Your case may be completely different.

It may or may not have helped, but I did use hot-cold contrast treatment. ie hot bath and ice-water bath. Gave me something to try anyways and is fairly low risk (I have normal circulation etc and have done this for other injuries). I also hope that it is acceptable in relation to forum rules to suggest asking a pharmacist about over the counter creams. Ask perhaps for something you could rub in, after exercise.

To be honest... I'd be careful about surgery. My suggestion (as a non medic) is to look at the other options first and get multiple opinions if necessary. For myself, I think that if I was going to try some procedure - I'd ask for the needle method first. It simply sounds safer, cheaper and faster.
